This Privacy Policy explains how Noor collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Noor mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
- Anonymous authentication ID (when using guest mode).
- Google account basic profile data (if you sign in with Google), such as email and display name.
1.2 App Data You Create
- Bookmarks, reading progress, audio progress, and app settings.
- Salah lock and tilawah mode configuration.
- Cloud sync snapshots used for backup/restore.
1.3 Location Data (Optional)
- Precise or approximate location only when you enable location features.
- Used for prayer times, qibla direction, and nearby masjid search.
- You can also manually enter coordinates without enabling GPS.
1.4 Device/Permission-Related Data
- Notification permission status (for prayer reminders).
- Exact alarm usage (for scheduled prayer reminders).
- Accessibility and usage access status (for Salah Lock/Tilawah app-blocking features).
- Installed app labels/package names only when you open app-block selection screens.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide core hadith reading features and multilingual content.
- Save your bookmarks/progress and sync them across reinstall/sign-in.
- Calculate/display prayer times and qibla, and run reminder alarms.
- Enable optional focus features such as Salah Lock and Tilawah Mode.
- Improve reliability and maintain service security.
3. Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services to deliver features:
- Firebase (Authentication, Firestore sync).
- Google Sign-In (optional account login).
- Hadith content sources (public hadith APIs/CDNs used by the App).
- Masjid search service for nearby masjid lookup when requested.
- Cloudflare Worker / AI provider for optional AI dua generation (if enabled).
These services have their own privacy policies and terms. Data sent to them is limited to what is needed for the requested feature.
4. Data Storage and Retention
- Core reading data is stored locally on your device.
- If cloud sync is enabled, selected data is stored in your Firebase user space.
- We retain cloud data until you delete it, request deletion, or your account is removed.
5. Accessibility and Usage Access
Noor requests Accessibility and Usage Access only for user-enabled focus features (Salah Lock/Tilawah app blocking). These permissions are not required for basic reading. You can disable them any time in Android Settings.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We only share information with service providers required to operate app features, legal compliance, security protection, or with your explicit action.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No system is 100% secure, but we continuously work to protect your information.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- Use guest mode instead of Google sign-in.
- Disable location, notifications, accessibility, and usage access permissions.
- Sign out and stop cloud sync at any time.
- Request deletion of cloud data by contacting us.
9. Children's Privacy
Noor is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us and we will remove it where legally required.
10. International Transfers
Depending on your location and chosen services, data may be processed in countries other than your own.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above when changes are made.
